BENITEZ: NEW BOOTS
CAN HELP AGGER
Rafa Benitez is hopeful Daniel Agger will prove he’s ready for
first-team action when he steps out for the reserves tonight
in a pair of specially made boots.
A metatarsal injury has kept the Dane out since Liverpool's
visit to Portsmouth in September, but there now seems to be
light at the end of the tunnel thanks in part to some new
footwear.
Benitez said: "This is a chance for Daniel to prove his
fitness because he has been out for a long time.
"It is very good news for him and for us because everyone has
been working very hard to find a solution, and he now has a
new pair of boots which have helped.
"He has trained well, now he just needs to get minutes on the
pitch."
Agger will be given at least 45 minutes of tonight's clash
with Manchester United at Warrington Wolves' Halliwell Jones
Stadium.
Harry Kewell and Xabi Alonso are also in the starting XI,
while Gary Neville features for United.
The match kicks off at 7.30pm GMT – and you can watch it live
online through LFC TV. Coverage starts at 7.15pm.
