AGGER CLOSING IN ON
RETURN
Daniel Agger is closing in on a first-team return following a
lengthy lay off with a metatarsal injury, though the defender
is unlikely to start against Middlesbrough on Saturday.
Agger has been pencilled in for a possible appearance when the
reserves take on Manchester United on Tuesday.
With Jamie Carragher suspended for the Middlesbrough clash
after picking up five yellow cards, Martin Skrtel is likely to
partner Sami Hyypia.
The Slovak has recovered from a calf injury which kept him out
against Barnsley and Inter.
Rafa Benitez told Liverpoolfc.tv: "We will try to manage
without Carra. We have the experience of Sami and Martin is
available.
"Agger is nearly there. We will use him little by little
because it's too early for him to play a full game.
"Maybe he will play for the reserves versus Man Utd next
week." |
